Frequently Asked Questions
Overview on CBD
What is CBD?
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, a chemical compound which occurs naturally in cannabis plants. Unlike THC—which is psychoactive—CBD has no mind-altering effects.
How is CBD different from THC?
The difference between CBD and THC can be seen in their sources. CBD is derived from hemp and THC is derived from marijuana. Both hemp and marijuana are strains of cannabis plants. Hemp characteristically contains non-detectable amounts of THC, whereas marijuana contains high levels of it.
What does non-psychoactive mean?
Products that are mind-altering are referred to as psychoactive, as they elicit a “stoned” sensation. As such, products that do not produce the same mind-altering effects are referred to as non-psychoactive. As CBD is non-psychoactive, this means that it will not create the “stoned” sensation experienced with products containing THC.
Is CBD legal to purchase in every state?
Yes—sales of hemp-derived CBD products are legal across the majority of US states, as a result of The Agricultural Act of 2018:

Will your tea give me a high?
Our teas containing only CBD will not produce a “high,” but elicit an overall sense of well-being. To select the right blend for you, look to the corresponding labels and strength indications listed on each individual blend’s page.
Are there health benefits related to consuming CBD?
Abiding by federal regulations, we are unable to make any health claims related to the consumption of CBD.
Where do you source your CBD from?
All of our CBD is cultivated in Northern California. All plants are sun-grown using organic farming methods.
What is full-spectrum CBD?
Full-spectrum CBD refers to types of CBD which contain an array of cannabinoids (e.g. CBC, CBN, CBG, terpenes, flavonoids). Research has shown that the cannabidiol in a phytocannabinoid-rich full-spectrum hemp is more effective than a pure cannabidiol (CBD) isolate. With this in mind, we’re proud to produce all our teas with full-spectrum CBD.
Can I overdose on CBD?
No—cannabinoids, which include CBD, have no known toxicity. However, we recommend monitoring your own interactions with every product to make the most informed decision on your consumption and enjoyment.
Is it possible to be allergic to cannabis or CBD?
While it is very rare, some people are allergic to cannabis and CBD. If you feel you might be, we suggest contacting an allergist before consuming our products.
Overview on THC
What is THC?
THC is the abbreviation for tetrahydrocannabinol, a chemical compound which occurs naturally in cannabis plants. Unlike CBD—which is non-psychoactive—THC does have mind-altering effects, and will incite a “high”.
Will your tea give me a high?
Our teas containing THC will incite varying degrees of a “high”. To select the right blend for you, look to the corresponding labels and strength indications listed on each individual blend’s page.
Where do you source your THC from?
All of our high quality THC is cultivated in Northern California and procured through licensed and well-vetted manufacturers. All plants are sun-grown using organic farming methods.
How long does it take to feel the effects of cannabis?
For our THC tea blends, as similar to other edibles, it takes about 30 - 90 minutes to begin feeling “high”, and varies by individual. The effect can last between 2-5 hours, depending on the dosage of your tea.
Good Company Products
Are your teas organic?
Yes—our teas are 100% organic. We utilize only organic cannabis extracts and ingredients in all of our tea blends. All Good Company products are organic, non-GMO, and gluten-free.
What material are your tea bags made of?
Our tea bags are made from plant based renewable resources. This means no plastic, non-toxic, made from corn fiber/starch - they are 100% compostable and biodegradable, and won't pollute the environment. The box and mylar are recyclable too!
How should I steep my tea?
Begin by pouring boiling water over the tea sachet (according to the instructions in the package). The steeping time depends on the type of tea blend, usually 3-5 minutes. Make sure to stir well to fuse the ingredients and enjoy.
Do your teas increase in potency the longer they are brewed?
No—the potency does not increase in relation to your brewing time. Steeping our tea longer than recommended will increase the strength of its flavor, not its potency.
Can I steep my tea more than once?
We recommend steeping our tea only once to preserve the quality and character of the tea’s essential oils, flavor, and CBD and/or THC.
How many cups of Good Company Tea can I consume per day?
There is no limit on how many cups of our tea you can consume per day.
Do Good Company teas have a “weed”-like smell or aftertaste?
No—our teas are well-balanced in their flavor profiles and have no “weed”-like smell or aftertaste.
Is it possible for several people to have a different experience drinking the same cannabis-infused tea?
Yes—because each person’s endocannabinoid system is unique, everyone responds to cannabis differently. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) operates in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, affecting a variety of physiological processes including: mood, sleep, memory, pain sensation, inflammation, and appetite.
Do your teas interact with any medications?
We cannot advise on any interactions our teas might have with your medications and suggest consulting your doctor before consuming our products.
